Find your finish
Six collections, six ways
to wear Gianluca.
The collection defines the sandal’s look: dip-dyed, vintage, natural, two-tone, studded, or in velvet and chenille. Start here, then choose your color and material.

Classica
Oiled, vegetable-tanned cowhide and a leather sole: Gianluca’s traditional construction. Dip-dyeing gives the leather its color and the sandal its character.
For those who love leather at its most traditional.
Freetime
A special treatment of the uppers, sole leather and finishing details creates a worn-in look. Shading and details make every pair different, with a character that already carries a sense of time.
For those looking for a vintage finish.
Light
A colored leather upper meets a natural leather sole. The contrast between the upper and the pale base brings out colors and finishes, including metallic leathers.
For those who want a natural base and a colored upper.
Bicolor
Different colors and materials come together in the same design. Examples in the official catalog include Black–Titanium, Tan–Red and Tan–Silver.
For those who love combinations and contrasts.
Luxury
Leathers, finishes and colors are enhanced with small studs. The decoration becomes part of the sandal’s character, with combinations to be checked for your chosen design.
For those drawn to studded details.
Glamour
Carefully stitched velvet and chenille straps, backed with leather, give these sandals distinctive textures. The maker also describes this collection as “i pelosi”.
For those who prefer an original textile finish.
A guide to possibilities, with availability to be confirmed. The six collections are presented in Gianluca’s official catalog. Designs, leathers, colors and decorations cannot necessarily be combined freely: please ask us to confirm your preferred variation.
Color changes
the character.
In the dip-dyeing process, the sandal is immersed in the dye by hand. The official catalog presents these twelve shades as visual references to help you describe your request.

Photographic colors are a guide. Screens, lighting and hand-dyeing can cause differences in shade. Dip-dyed color names do not automatically indicate the same effect in metallic leathers, nubuck or other finishes.
Beyond color,
the material.
The same shade can look different depending on the surface. The maker distinguishes these material and finish families: please specify your preference when you contact us.

Cowhide
The traditional leather used in the Classica collection.

Nubuck
A soft surface, with a different effect from smooth leather.

Metallic leathers
Light-catching finishes: official examples include gold, silver, bronze and titanium.

Animal prints
Decorative patterns and finishes, to be checked for the chosen design.

Velvet and chenille
The materials used for Glamour straps, backed with leather and stitched.
Light and metallic leather describe different things. Light is the collection with a natural leather sole; metallic leather describes an upper finish. For example, you can ask us to check a Light design with a gold metallic leather upper.
The foundation of your sandal.
The sole is part of the design’s construction. Let us know your preference: compatibility and availability need to be checked alongside the collection and the leather.
Leather
This is the sole material described by the maker for Classica. In Light, the leather sole remains natural and contrasts with the upper; in Freetime, the treatment also includes the sole leather and finishing details.
Rubber, subject to confirmation
Our store’s guide also includes variations with a rubber outsole and a leather surface in contact with the foot. Please ask us to confirm the options for your chosen design and collection before ordering.
For Freetime or special sole constructions, contact us first. Do not assume that every sole can be used with every finish. Any availability of the thick British sole must be checked with customer service.

Useful questions.
Can I use this guide for any product in the store?
No. This guide applies exclusively to sandals by Gianluca – L’artigiano del cuoio. Other brands and other product types require a separate check.
Can I combine any color with any collection?
The guide presents possibilities from Gianluca’s catalog. Compatibility depends on the design, leather, finish and available materials. Send your preferred combination to customer service for confirmation.
Will the color be identical to the photograph?
Photographs help you choose. Screen rendering and the shading of hand-finishing may make the color look different. If you have a particular shade in mind, give us its name and attach a reference.
Is it enough to request another color in the order notes?
For a variation not listed on the product page, ask customer service for confirmation first. Once feasibility, price and lead time have been checked, follow the instructions received and include the agreed details in the notes.
Does customization also mean made-to-measure?
This guide describes variations in color, material, collection and sole. It does not confirm a made-to-measure service or changes to the shape. For specific fit requirements, contact us before purchasing.
