Vintage cuir greesed vachetta leather thongs braid around the big toe and leather sole handmade in Italy without the use foreign or child labor, but by experts in the best tradition of craftsmanship.
The sole is hand stitched on the insole providing a superior finish and durability than the industrial system which is simply pasted. For staining the thongs are manual dipped in a VEGETABLE colour, manual finishing by the usage of small brushes and as final step, drying at the open air. This process takes as a result called TUFFATO, which many companies do not spend more because it requires a work of extreme precision that slows down production time.

Confortable but what about the durability
The sandal itself is looking great and is really confortable. But after 3-4 times I worn it, the sew of the leather sole got broken. Don't kow how much time it will last...

Hi, our sandals have a leather tread sewn together with the sole as well as being glued unlike most of the models on the market which are only glued. The thread of the stitching, obviously being in contact with the ground, will break with use, however, leaving the stitches on the inside of the sole unaltered. This does not involve any deterioration of the sandal. In fact the seam is a further resistance to gluing and not the only one.

As all shoes with leather solethey can be very slippery. This problem disappears by using them for a few hours and scratching the first layer of wax. If in any case this sensation is not to your liking, you can have any cobbler add a non-slip rubber half-sole.

Bought the Gianlucas, so far I am very happy with them. My only concern is that the buckle won't hold up over time, hopefully it will. Beautiful craftsmanship, finish and comfortable. The leather sole is hard and takes getting used to, but I'm up for it. Hard to find beautiful hand-made sandals like this in America. Meraviglioso!
